Dr. Regina Munden grew up in Florida where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and Psychology at Florida State University. While in undergrad, she was involved with a research project that evaluated the genetics of idiopathic epilepsy in standard poodles. Through this research, she realized her love of both animals and research. Dr. Munden continued her education at the University of Florida obtaining a Master of Science in Pharmacy. After completing her degree, she moved to Philadelphia to work at The University of Pennsylvania Gene Therapy Program.

Dr. Munden attended veterinary school at The University of Pennsylvania. While in veterinary school, she continued to seek out opportunities to further her love of research and animals. Including a summer internship at Pfizer Animal Health where she was involved in a pilot study evaluating an injectable monoclonal antibody for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (allergic skin disease). She graduated from University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Dr. Munden then completed a three-year residency program at Penn State’s College of Medicine in Comparative Medicine.

Dr. Munden has worked in small animal practice and relief work since 2015. Dr. Munden was the Medical Director at The Pet Mechanic, South Street in Philadelphia prior to joining our team.

Dr. Munden enthusiastically joined Bryn Mawr Veterinary Hospital as a full-time veterinarian in January 2022. It is her mission to be kind, compassionate and loving to both her patients and their families, to provide owners with the best veterinary care through recommendations and information to make the best choice for the furry family members.

Her areas of interest in include: preventive and routine veterinary care including use of routine diagnostics and preventatives, dermatology cases (chronic otitis externa/ear infections & allergies), behavior cases, comprehensive oral care throughout a patient’s life, pain management using a multi-modal approach (NSAIDs, injectable medications, joint supplements, cold laser and physical therapy), pocket pets and exotic animals and nutritional management for clinical cases. Dr. Munden enjoys surgery and is known to perform emergency surgery if needed.

Dr. Munden is a member of the National American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and continues to seek out continuing education to continue to advance her professional skills and knowledge in the field.

When not at work, Dr. Munden enjoys spending time with her daughter, her French bulldog, Piper, hound rescue, Sweet Pea and her three rescue kitties. She enjoys visiting her family in Florida and college football.
